COVID-19 Updates at Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf & Spa Resort

To Our Valued Guests

Like so many of you, we have spent substantial time closely monitoring statements from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), World Health Organization (WHO), and Florida Department of Health (FDOH) regarding the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

The safety and wellbeing of our guests and employees is of paramount importance to us and we are committed to doing everything we can to ensure your next visit with us at Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa is most enjoyable.

Along with guidelines provided by the CDC and Hilton Hotels & Resorts we have made the following adjustments to our day-to-day procedures in an effort to keep our guests and team members safe.


Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa is open and actively taking reservations. The hotel is currently operating at 75% capacity. Any guest choosing to use digital check-in must stop by the front desk for access to hotel amenities.

Being in the business of hospitality our team members interact with guests on a face-to-face basis. We hope you are still able to feel the light and warmth of hospitality through our team member interactions though things may look a little different these days. Updated Policies and Procedures

An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, senior citizens and guests with underlying medical conditions are especially vulnerable.

By visiting Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa and it’s affiliate outlets Serenity by the sea Spa and Seagar’s Prime Steaks & Seafood, you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19.

Personal Protective Equipment

As of July 28th Hilton Hotels & Resorts has mandated that all guests visiting a Hilton Sandestin must wear a face covering while indoors. This includes - but is not limited to - the main lobby area, elevator landings, elevator cars, in restaurants prior to being seated, in the spa prior to receiving a service, and any indoor public space that does not allow for social distancing.

To ensure the safety of our team members and our guests all indoor staff will be equipped with masks – our outdoor staff are not required to wear masks in F&B settings.

*To reduce the spread of COVID-19, the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention recommends that people wear cloth face coverings in public settings when around people outside of their household, especially when other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain. Masks must cover the nose and mouth. Cloth face coverings should not be worn by: children younger than 2 years old, anyone who has trouble breathing and anyone who is unconscious, incapacitated, or otherwise unable to remove the cloth face covering without assistance.

Housekeeping Services

As part of the Hilton Hotels & Resorts CleanStay program, our team will be sealing off rooms that are ready to welcome new guests in an effort to keep everything sanitized prior to arrival. All guest rooms are cleaned and disinfected using commercial grade cleaning solutions and products between guest stays. This includes all frequently touched objects and surfaces such as door handles, remote controls, telephones and more. All requests for amenities will be placed in sealed single-­-use bags placed outside the door of an individual’s guest room.

At this time we are not providing traditional housekeeping services to guests unless they are staying a minimum of 6 days in which case we will be providing limited housekeeping services.

Guest Elevators

Sanitizer stations are located in each individual elevator car. Elevator capacity has been reduced to ensure the number of guests using our facilities at one time does not put others at risk. Only two people OR one family are permitted in one elevator car at the same time.

Valet Parking

At this time our guest services staff has resumed valet parking services. Our bellmen wear gloves and sanitize the outside and inside door handles, steering wheel, gear shifter and start button or key starter. Our bellmen sanitize their hands when they retrieve keys or place keys on the valet board, when they park a vehicle in the lot and when they pull a vehicle out of the valet lot and up on the driveway. They are equipped with both masks and gloves to ensure their safety and the safety of our guests.

Hilton Sandestin’s Private Beach

At this time our beach is open to guests of Hilton Sandestin and Serenity by the sea Spa members. While on the beach guests are asked to participate in social distancing – keeping 6 feet between them and other parties. We are no longer permitting tents of any kind on our beach in an effort to ensure enough space for all guests to enjoy themselves. Our security team along with the Walton County Code Enforcement will be monitoring the beach to ensure social distancing is followed.

The only people permitted on our private beach and pool deck are guests of Hilton Sandestin and Serenity by the sea Spa Members. Spa members will be required to show their member ID and hotel guests will be required to show their Hilton Sandestin wristband provided upon check in.

Pool Decks & Chairs

Our outdoor deck seating has been reduced in number and spaced out according to social distancing standards. 

*The CDC has stated there is no evidence that COVID-19 can be spread to humans through the use of pools and hot tubs. Proper operation, maintenance, and disinfection (e.g. with chlorine and bromine) of pools and hot tubs should remove or inactivate the virus that causes COVID-19. Our pool levels remain monitored 24/7 by EcoLab and our Hilton Sandestin Beach staff and are cleaned thoroughly multiple times a day.

Our onsite staff cleans our outdoor and indoor pools and hot tubs daily in addition to our whirlpools in the spa. We use the highest-grade cleaners including chlorine, muriatic acid, cyanaric acid, alkalinity powder, bromine tabs and more. Our facilities are monitored 24/7 by Ecolab to ensure around the clock cleanliness.

Onsite Dining

All surfaces within the restaurants are cleaned and disinfected with commercial grade products in between each guest experience. Please note our menus and hours are subject to change during this time. Each dining outlet menu is available online by visiting our website.

  • Seagar’s Prime Steaks & Seafood iWe will be closed January 1st - 11th to refresh our space. During this time Seagar's will still be accepting reservations online and via telephone: 850-622-1500
  • Barefoot’s Beachside Bar & Grill is closed for the season.
  • Sandcastles Restaurant our breakfast buffet is served in Sandcastles Restaurant from 7am-11am daily. Sandcastles will not be serving lunch or dinner in the restaurant until further notice.
  • Sandcastles Lounge; Hadashi Sushi Bar; and The Coffee Shop are all open daily – hours of operation can be found by visiting the dining page
  • Picnix Poolside Market; Sand Bar closed for the season.

Serenity by the sea Spa

Personal Protective Equipment Face coverings should be worn in the spa at all times with the exception of the fitness center, while using the showers, the sauna, the steam room and whirlpools, during a facial and when the client is face down in a massage. Please let a member of our team know if you have a medical condition that prevents you from wearing a face covering during your visit.

*All service providers will be wearing masks and gloves for the safety of our staff and guests. If at anytime a service provider feels uncomfortable during a treatment they have the ability to end the service at their discretion.

Spa Amenities Bottled water and refreshments are available upon request. All lockers come equipped with a signature Serenity robe, towel and individually sealed toiletries. Please speak with our lounge attendants for any requests regarding additional towels, shower kits and other toiletries.

Serenity by the sea Spa Members At this time, spa members have access to the pools and private beach at Hilton Sandestin. Spa members must show their Member ID and any guest passes when asked by hotel security. Spa members have daily access to our 24-­hour fitness center as well as our spa facilities.

*All guests visiting Serenity by the sea Spa must make an appointment in advance by calling the front desk at 850-622-9595.

Meetings & Events

Our catered events will consist of server-attended buffets and action stations as well as individually packaged/portioned items. Our team has created meeting space layouts with social distancing guidelines in mind, providing more space between chairs, tables and buffet lines. Additional meeting space, different event space sets, or program modifications may be necessary to accommodate groups based on number of guests and available event space.

Team building activities and beach bonfires are based on the number of group attendees and will be provided on a limited basis. Kids Krew is currently closed. As ordinances change we will update our group guests to ensure they have the best experience possible.

*Any questions regarding group efforts should be sent to the Director of Events and the group’s onsite event manager.

Additional Updates

The Sandestin Resort Tram is currently running from 8:30 a.m. – 10 p.m. daily. The tram is limited to 9 people and picks up by the entrance to the Spa Tower.

Travel Traders Gift Shop is open daily. Hours vary.

Kids Krew is closed until further notice.

Reservations & Cancellation Policy

The extended policy applies to all individual reservations globally:

  • For reservations made prior to March 12, 2020 - when our new, more flexible reservation policy went into effect: Guests may now change or cancel any future reservation, without penalty, as long as they do so at least 24 hours before their scheduled arrival date, but not later than September 30, 2020. This includes reservations described as "non-cancellable" or Advance Purchase..
  • Flexibility for the Future: Any individual reservations booked on and between March 12 and September 30, 2020 for any future arrival date can be changed or cancelled at no charge, up to 24 hours before scheduled arrival day. This includes reservations described as "non-cancellable" or Advance Purchase.

If you need to adjust reservations made via the Hilton website, app or call center, you can change your reservation via our onsite reservations team 850-267-9500 or the Hilton Guest Assistance team. If you need to adjust reservations made through another travel site, please contact them for assistance.

We encourage you to take the following precautions to protect yourself and others:

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
  • Avoid touching your face with unwashed hands.
  • Cover your nose and mouth when coughing or sneezing.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
