COVID-19 Updates at Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf & Spa Resort

To Our Valued Guests:

Like so many of you, we have spent substantial time closely monitoring statements from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), World Health Organization (WHO), and Florida Department of Health (FDOH) regarding the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

The safety and wellbeing of our guests and employees is of paramount importance to us and we are committed to doing everything we can to ensure your next visit with us at Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa is most enjoyable.

Along with guidelines provided by the CDC and Hilton Hotels & Resorts we have made the following adjustments to our day-to-day procedures in an effort to keep our guests and team members safe.

 

Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa is open as of May 15, 2020. We are actively taking reservations and the hotel is currently operating at 75% capacity. Any guest choosing to use digital check-in must stop by the front desk for access to hotel amenities.

Please note the opening of our outlets and the ability to execute onsite-catered events depends solely on the current executive orders put in place by Governor DeSantis. Should anything change regarding Florida’s Recovery - Phase 2 /ordinance EO-139 we will alert our guests.

Being in the business of hospitality our team members interact with guests on a face-to-face basis. We hope you are still able to feel the light and warmth of hospitality through our team member interactions though things may look a little different these days. Personal Protective Equipment

As of July 28th Hilton Hotels & Resorts has mandated that all guests visiting a Hilton Sandestin must wear a face covering while indoors. This includes - but is not limited to - the main lobby area, elevator landings, elevator cars, in restaurants prior to being seated, in the spa prior to receiving a service, and any indoor public space that does not allow for social distancing.

Cloth face coverings should not be worn by: children younger than 2 years old, anyone who has trouble breathing and anyone who is unconscious, incapacitated, or otherwise unable to remove the cloth face covering without assistance. To ensure the safety of our team members and our guests all indoor staff will be equipped with gloves and masks – our outdoor staff are not required to wear masks but will

To reduce the spread of COVID-19, the Centers for Disease Control recommends that people wear cloth face coverings in public settings when around people outside of their household, especially when other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain. Masks must cover the nose and mouth.

Housekeeping Services

As part of the Hilton Hotels & Resorts CleanStay program, our team will be sealing off rooms that are ready to welcome new guests in an effort to keep everything sanitized prior to arrival.

All guest rooms are cleaned and disinfected using commercial grade cleaning solutions and products between guest stays. This includes all frequently touched objects and surfaces such as door handles, remote controls, telephones and more. All requests for amenities will be placed in sealed single-­-use bags placed outside the door of an individual’s guest room.

As of June 19th we are not providing traditional housekeeping services to guests unless they are staying a minimum of 6 days in which case we will be providing limited housekeeping services.

Guest Elevators

Sanitizer stations are located in each individual elevator car. Elevator capacity has been reduced to ensure the number of guests using our facilities at one time does not put any others at risk. Only two guests OR one family are permitted in an elevator at the same time.

Valet Parking

As of June 15th our guest services staff resumed valet parking services. The bellmen wear gloves, wipe down (with sanitizer) the outside and inside door handles, steering wheel, gear shifter and start button or key starter.

The bellmen sanitize their hands when they retrieve keys or place keys on the valet board, when they park a vehicle in the lot and when they pull a vehicle out of the valet lot and up on the driveway.

Hilton Sandestin’s Beach

At this time the beaches in Walton County are open and our team is able to provide beach-vending services to include the rental of beach chairs, umbrellas, kayaks and paddle boards. Our team will be providing proper sanitization of equipment between each guest use to ensure everyone’s safety. While on the beach guests are asked to participate in social distancing – keeping 6 feet between them and other parties. We are no longer permitting tents of any kind on our beach in an effort to ensure enough space for all guests to enjoy themselves. Our security team along with the Walton County Code Enforcement will be monitoring the beach to ensure social distancing is followed.

The only people permitted on Hilton Sandestin’s private beach and pool deck area are Hilton Sandestin guests and Serenity by the sea Spa Members. Spa members will be required to show their member ID and hotel guests will be required to show their Hilton Sandestin wristband provided upon check in.

Pool Decks & Chairs

Our outdoor deck seating has been reduced in number and spaced out according to social distancing standards set in place by the CDC. All guests using our onsite pools, deck and beach space will be required to show their Hilton Sandestin wristband provided at check in.

The CDC has stated there is no evidence that COVID-19 can be spread to humans through the use of pools and hot tubs. Proper operation, maintenance, and disinfection (e.g. with chlorine and bromine) of pools and hot tubs should remove or inactivate the virus that causes COVID-19. Our pool levels remain monitored 24/7 by EcoLab and our Hilton Sandestin Beach staff and are cleaned thoroughly multiple times a day.

Our onsite staff cleans our outdoor and indoor pools and hot tubs daily in addition to our whirlpools in the spa. We use the highest-grade cleaners including chlorine, muriatic acid, cyanaric acid, alkalinity powder, bromine tabs and more. Our facilities are monitored 24/7 by Ecolab to ensure around the clock cleanliness.

Onsite Dining

Our onsite restaurants with indoor seating will continue operating at 50% capacity to aid in social distancing and abide by the ordinance put in place by Governor DeSantis (Florida’s Recovery – Phase 2). Capacity levels are set by the Florida DBPR and will be strictly enforced by our food and beverage team.

All surfaces within the restaurants are cleaned and disinfected with commercial grade products in between each guest experience. Please note our menus and hours are subject to change during this time. Each dining outlet menu is available online by visiting our website.

  • Seagar’s Prime Steaks & Seafood is open Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays from 5:30pm – 9pm; Fridays and Saturdays from 5:30pm – 10pm. Reservations are required: 850-622-1500. At this time, all barstools have been removed and guests are asked not to congregate in the bar area
  • Barefoot’s Beachside Bar & Grill is open for hotel guests only. Guests must be seated to receive service OR must place a "to-go" order.
  • Sandcastles Restaurant is open and as of June 17th the daily breakfast buffet will be served in the Coral Ballroom located in the Emerald Tower conference space from 7am – 11am. Sandcastles will not be serving lunch or dinner in the restaurant until further notice.
  • Sandcastles Lounge; Hadashi Sushi Bar; Picnix Poolside Market; The Sand Bar and The Coffee Shop are all open daily, though capacity and hours may vary.

Serenity by the sea Spa

Serenity is open to Hilton Sandestin guests, Serenity spa members and the public by appointment only. For the month of July, spa day passes are not available to the public, unless a guest is accompanied by a spa member. As of July 13th Serenity will be checking the temperature of each guest upon arrival. All guests must shower in the corresponding Serenity lounge showers prior to receiving treatment.

At this time our hours of operation are 8am-7pm. The fitness center is open 24 hours a day for hotel guests and spa members only. We are currently able to offer all services including facials, massages, nail services, hair services and body treatments. Social distancing measures are in effect throughout the spa facilities.

All service providers will be wearing masks and gloves for the safety of our staff and guests. If at anytime a service provider feels uncomfortable during a treatment they have the ability to end the service at their discretion

Bottled water and refreshments are available upon request. Please speak with our lounge attendants for any requests regarding towels, shower kits and other toiletries.

All guests visiting Serenity by the sea Spa must make an appointment in advance by calling the front desk at 850-622-9595.

Serenity by the sea Spa Members
Spa members have access to the hotel pools and private beach with their Member ID. Spa members have daily access to the 24­-hour fitness center as well as our spa facilities including the sauna, steam room, whirlpools and lounges.

Spa members are not currently permitted to dine in our restaurants, with the exception of Seagar's (reservation required).

Meetings & Events

Our catered events will be providing server attended buffets, action stations also served by employees and individually packaged/portioned items to ensure the safety of our guests. As of June 5th, 2020: Florida’s Recovery — Phase 2 states groups of 50 or less should stay 6 feet from the next group of 50 or less.

Our team has already begun working to incorporate social distancing guidelines into our meeting space layouts providing more space between chairs and tables. These efforts may require additional meeting space, different event space sets, or program modifications to accommodate groups as needed based on number of guests.

Team building activities and beach bonfires will be limited and based on number of group attendees. Kids Krew is currently closed. As ordinances change we will update our group guests to ensure they have the best experience possible.

Additional Updates

The Sandestin Resort Tram is currently running from 8:30am – 12am daily. The tram is limited to 9 people and picks up by the entrance to the Spa Tower. Travel Traders Gift Shop is open daily from 8am – 10pm. Kids Krew is closed until further notice. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Governor’s Actions Regarding Travel

Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa is not able to accommodate any guests needing to self-isolate or quarantine. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Executive Order Number 20-82:

  • On March 24, 2020, Governor DeSantis directed all individuals entering the state of Florida from the New York Tri-State Area (Connecticut, New Jersey, and New York) to isolate or quarantine for a period of 14 days from the time of entry into Florida or the duration of the individual’s presence in Florida, whichever is shorter.

Reservations & Cancellation Policy

The extended policy will officially go into effect on June 5, 2020 and applies to all individual reservations globally:

  • For reservations made prior to March 12, 2020 - when our new, more flexible reservation policy went into effect: Guests may now change or cancel any future reservation, without penalty, as long as they do so at least 24 hours before their scheduled arrival date, but not later than August 31, 2020. This includes reservations described as "non-cancellable" or Advance Purchase.
  • Flexibility for the Future: Any individual reservations booked on and between March 12 and August 31, 2020 for any future arrival date can be changed or cancelled at no charge, up to 24 hours before scheduled arrival day. This includes reservations described as "non-cancellable" or Advance Purchase.

If you need to adjust reservations made via the Hilton website, app or call center, you can change your reservation via our onsite reservations team 850-267-9500 or the Hilton Guest Assistance team. If you need to adjust reservations made through another travel site, please contact them for assistance.

We encourage you to take the following precautions to protect yourself and others:
